Valencia CF Academy gets recognition at a sports gala

Valencia CF U19 welcomed Lille Olympique Sporting Club U19 for Matchday 4 of the UEFA Youth League at the Antonio Puchades at 2 pm kick-off time where they will try to get their opening win of the competition a vital game in blustery weather conditions.
Valencia CF were off to a great start and firmly in possession knocking the ball about well trying to open up the opposition defence while the visitors were waiting to hit Angulo’s side on the break.
The first Valencia CF chance came seven minutes into the game Jesús Vázquez tried his luck from outside the box but his shot flashed wide of the post. Moments later, Pablo Gozálbez put it over the bar with a forceful drive off a corner kick halfway through the first half.
Carlos Pérez pulled it back into Jesús Vazquez who unleashed a powerful shot but the LOSC U19 palmed it over the bar. VCF main attacking outlet enjoyed the last kick of the opening half but his drive went begging and the first half finished scoreless.
The same script followed in the second half at a higher tempo. Bosch Sanchís had the first opening of the second half with a brilliant header which skimmed wide of the post on 50 minutes.
Pedro Alemañ broke the deadlock just behind the hour mark after collecting a loose ball from a corner kick to rifle it past the keeper to blow off the cobwebs in a one-way traffic encounter where Valencia CF were clearly dominating the game.
Valencia CF were forced into a change when goalscorer Pedro Alemañ hobbled off with an injury. Things took a turn for the worst when Fadigga Ouattara made it 1-1 against the run of play.
Koba Koindredi came close to putting Valencia CF back in front will a thunderous follow-up shot but Faddiga Outara grabbed his brace late on in the game in a smash and grab blow as the game finished 1-2 to LOSC U19.

Observations: Matchday 4 of Group H of the UEFA Youth League played at the Antonio Puchades before about 1,000 spectators. The president of Valencia CF, Anil Murthy, did not want to miss the clash.
